Ring Holder

Hey guys so here's that project I've been neglecting to put up :) A ring holder!!
I'd be lying if I said this was my idea though.  I modified a tutorial from another blog, which you can find here.

So first, you need to gather your materials!
  • Batting (I used 32 strips, measuring 2x8")
  • Fabric (Some amount of pieces as batting, but 4x4")
  • Scissors
  • Thread in colors to match fabric
  • A box container of some sort
  • Needle
  • Glue!
  • Butter knife or other skinny object

I used a box intended for rolls of DMC thread, which has a lid and multiple compartments.
So first, cut your materials.  The best way to test what size you need is to just roll up a piece of batting and see how much or little you need for the size of the compartment you're using.  The width is just the width of the compartment, but the length depends of how high or low you want the batting to sit.

Now roll up the batting pieces and sew them together!

Next, take each piece of batting and fold the fabric over it as shown, tucking the sides in as you fold.

Fold the top down over all of it
Sew it closed as well using a similar colored thread.
Now test to see how many you need in each compartment, making sure they're snug, so your ring won't fall around and lose it's place. We wouldn't want a robot on the loose! I needed four.

Now glue them in each compartment, slathering glue on the bottom.
YAY! Look at that! But wait, what about the awkward ends?
Those aren't pretty.
Which is where the butter knife comes in! Use it to tuck down the ends and make it not as jaggedy-edged.
Perfect.

Put your rings in and you're done! Unless you want to add a cover, which I just cut some paper out and used a Cricut machine to make letters. You can also use stickers. Go get crafting! :)
